For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home has been caring Tom and his family. Thomas Gonzalez Gomez was born on May 7, 1938, in Mexico. He was the son of Ambrosio and Amanda (Gonzalez) Gomez. He graduated from East Moline High School. After high school, he served our country honorably for 4 years in the United States Army. On November 17, 1985, Tom married Maria Higuera in California. Tom worked as a maintenance supervisor in Orange County, California, and at John Deere in East Moline. He had lived in Marshalltown since 2006. He valued his family, being a husband, a father, and an uncle. Tom is survived by his wife, Maria, of Marshalltown; his children, Wanda Gomez, Kelly Gomez, Paula Gomez, Gilbert Gomez, Diana Gomez, Thomas Gomez Jr., Darlene Gomez, and Maria Gomez; his 7 grandchildren; one brother, and 3 sisters. In death, he has rejoined his parents, three brothers, and one sister.
