Thomas Shepard

Thomas Shepard, 55, of Marshalltown, died Sunday, November 18th, at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Memorial services celebrating his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 21st, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown with private burial at a later date. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Tom and his family. Ph 641-844-1234. Born on February 2nd, 1952, in Newton, Iowa, he was the son of Walter David and Hazel (Sutton) Shepard. He received his elementary education in Newton and graduated from the Baxter High Schools Class of 1970. On June 21st, 1972, he was united in marriage to Terry Braley in Kellogg. They made their home in Newton for five years until moving to Marshalltown where they have resided ever since. Mr. Shepard was a machinist for Fisher Controls and was a member of the United Congregation Church in Baxter, the Iowa Corvair Enthusiasts (serving as past president), the Corvair Society of America and enjoyed his family, car club friends and his 1965 gold Corvair. Left to mourn his loss are his loving wife of 35 years, Terry, his son Travis (Dana) Shepard of Prior Lake, MN., daughter Taryn Shepard (Mike Bryan) of Marshalltown, grandchildren Duncan and Morgan Bryan, his brother Elmer (Arlys) of Newton and brother-in-law, David Braley of Kellogg. In death he has rejoined his parents and sister, Evelyn Triplett.
