Born December 30, 1956 in Marshalltown, Iowa, Timothy was the son of Darrell and Viona (Stier) Peak. After graduating from Marshalltown High School, he went on to obtain his Associates Degree in Engineering from Marshalltown Community College. Tim started his career in engineering at Fisher Controls in Marshalltown. He was united in marriage to Georgia Smith on June 7, 1986. The couple relocated to North Liberty in 1987 after Tim accepted a position at IAC. He dedicated the remainder of his career there as a Senior Tool Engineer until his retirement.
Tim was an excellent cook, famous for his spicy chili and corned beef and cabbage on St. Patrick’s Day. He was incredibly artistic, excelling at drawing and design and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. He loved watching movies like the Lord of the Rings trilogy and listening to music, especially the Eagles and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Tim was always donating food to the local food pantry. He never met a stranger and loved being around people, most of all spending time with his family. He would drop anything for his family and especially adored his granddaughter, Sophia.
Left to cherish his memory are his three children: Tymon Peak (Shaina Lacina) of Cedar Rapids, Vianna Peak of North Liberty and Clarissa Peak (Dallas Portz) of Solon; his granddaughter, Sophia Portz and one on the way; former spouse Georgia Peak; his brother, Terry (Sharon) Peak of Point, TX; brother-in-law Leroy Smith; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and his beloved Husky, Bella.
Tim is preceded in death by his parents Darrell and Viona, sister Caryle Smith, brother Michael Peak and close family friend Frank Reiger.
