Timothy James Switzer

Timothy Switzer, 62, of Marshalltown, passed away at home on Tuesday, July 7, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time at 11:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the family to help with final expenses for Tim. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Tim and his family. Phone 641-844-1234. Timothy James Switzer was born in Sibley, Iowa; he was the son of Bernard James and Doris Brown Switzer. Tim attended school in the BCL Community School District and graduated with the class of 1970. Tim was married to Peggy and they later divorced and in 1977 he was united in marriage to Paulette and they resided in Liscomb, Iowa he later moved to Marshalltown, Iowa. Tim had worked at KIOWA for 15 years and later worked at the Iowa Veterans Home for 20 years. He had been a member of the Childrens Leukemia Foundation. He enjoyed bowling, the Casino slots and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Jody (Harold) Johnson of Union, Iowa, Michael (Bobbi) Glenn of Marshalltown, Iowa, Christina (Damon) Spencer of Marshalltown, Iowa, Sean (April) Switzer of Marshalltown, Iowa, James Murphy of Minnesota and Rita Clemons of Iowa City, 20 grandchildren and 9 great- grandchildren, siblings: Tom Switzer of Liscomb, Iowa, Connie (Larry) McStockard of Whitten, Iowa Becky Mulinex of Liscomb, Iowa and Bill(Penny) Switzer of Whitten , Iowa. In death he rejoins his parents, Bernard and Doris,wife Paulette, son, Frank Albert Glenn Jr. and granddaughter, Aubry Glenn.
