Timothy Jay Williams, 59 of Baxter, Iowa died at home with his loving family at his side on February 14th, 2014. Iowa River Hospice provided loving support to the family members. Tim was born to Elmer (Red) and LoRena Williams on April 22nd, 1954. He graduated from West Marshall High School in 1972. He worked as an apprentice carpenter for his father at Marshall Lumber, in Marshalltown, Iowa. In 1980 Tim moved to Baxter, Iowa and formed Williams Construction. He became a sub-contractor for Robinson Energy Efficient Products in Baxter. He worked for REEP 32 years. Tim was a visionary with an analytical mind. He fabricated doors, windows, churches, and storefronts all across the state of Iowa. He was a skilled finish carpenter and he left a legacy of buildings to be admired. In 1985 Tim married Lisa Menter-Williams on November 2nd at The Botanical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Tim was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers. He loved going to Lambeau Field, in Green Bay WI and was a regular every year. Tim also loved anything Iowa State. Tim had a passion for fast cars as well as snowmobiles. He enjoyed his Z28 Camaros and built a 2 story 3000 sq foot garage and man cave around them. He was a member of the Mid-Iowa Camaro Club, the National Rifle Association and the Humane Society of the United States. He is survived by his wife Lisa, his sons, Joel Thill (Amanda) of Marshalltown and Sean Williams, of Ankeny, his three grandchildren: Ethan, Emma and Averie Thill, his beloved dogs, Toby and Fuzzy. His brother Terry Williams (Marlene) Waukee, his sister Tami Riedman (Rich) Carlsbad, California. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial contributions may be directed in his name to his family. Following cremation, a memorial service for Tim will be held at Mitchell Family funeral Home on February 22nd at 3:30. In place of a visitation the family will receive guests at 2:30. A reception is planned at a later date. Tim wanted the reception in his garage during warm weather. His ashes will be buried at Ashton Chapel, in Mingo Iowa.
