Todd D. Behounek

**UPDATED** Todd D. Behounek, age 65, of Gladbrook, Iowa passed away peacefully on Saturday March 15, 2025, at the UnityPoint Health- Allen Hospital in Waterloo, IA.

Per Todd and his family, cremation rites will be accorded. A family-led Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday April 26, 2025, from 3:00P.M. to 7 P.M. at the American Legion in Tama, Iowa. Mitchell Family Funeral Home of Marshalltown has been entrusted to care for Todd and his family. Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation. Todd Dominic Behounek was born August 23, 1959, in Marengo, Iowa. He was the son of Paul and Marilyn J. (Walton) Behounek. Todd attended Belle Plain High School and graduated with the class of 1977. On October 19, 1991, he married the love of his life, Colleen (Harms) Behounek at the Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook, IA. They both raised a family together and called Gladbrook their home. Todd worked for Manatt’s Inc. for many years until his retirement. He was also the owner and operator of Behounek Salvage in Tama, IA. When Todd wasn’t working, he enjoyed going to flea markets, fishing, hunting for morel mushrooms, but most importantly he loved watching the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Cubs on television.

He is survived by his wife Colleen (Harms) Behounek; his son Dalton Dominic (Kyleigh Osterloh) Behounek; his granddaughter Brynlee; his siblings: Tony (Carol) Behounek of Omaha, Nebraska, and Ellyn (Bill) Waterbury of Iowa City, Iowa; his brother-in-law Phil (Brandi) Harms; and his sisters-in-law Madelon Harms and Jolene Kahler, all three of Traer, Iowa.

Todd is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Marilyn, and his brother Richard Behounek.
