Tom Davis, 67, of Baxter, Iowa passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown, Iowa after a very short illness of cancer. Thomas E. Davis was born in Liscomb, Iowa on July 10, 1947, to Louis and Ruby (Mills) Davis. Tom attended school in the Beaman/Conrad school district. Tom was united in marriage to Betty Tomkins and they were blessed with two daughters, Julie Renee and Sarah Lynn. In June of 1973, Tom was united in marriage to Leola Petrie. They had lived in Marshalltown, Collins and most recently in Baxter. Tom worked for the Times Republican as a typesetter and drove for North American Van Lines. He was an avid deer hunter with both gun and bow. He also enjoyed fishing. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 42 years, Leola, daughters, Julie Davis of Baxter, and Sarah Wallen of Lamoille, Iowa, 4 step-children, Jack (Kristi) Petrie of Haverhill, Iowa, Jim (fianc, Christa) Petrie) Petrie of Madrid, Iowa, Lynnette (Tim) Sutherland of Marshalltown, Iowa and Robert (Angie) Petrie of Laurel, Iowa. Grandchildren: Amber and Jake Wallen and 7 step-grandchildren. sister, Elvira Simoneaux of Mississippi. Special nieces Diana Hart, Texas and Karen Damon, Colorado. In death Tom rejoins his parents, Louis and Ruby and his step-father Lloyd Bloom.
