Tommy Bratland 58, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.A Memorial/ Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Phone 641-844-1234.Tommy Ray Bratland was born on August 6, 1953, he was the son of Edward and Margaret (Menter) Bratland, and he attended school in the Marshalltown School district graduating with the class of 1972. He had married Joan Benson and they later divorced. Tommy had worked at Lennox, Swift and Swartz Steel. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and hunting.Left to cherish his memory are his children ; Jodi McGinty ofConrad and Travis Castell , Tommys siblings; Betty (Leonard) Boerm of Garwin, Rachel McTurk of Marshalltown, Janet(Steve) Priske of Marshalltown, Charles( Linda) Bratland of State Center, and Randy Bratland of Marshalltown and many nieces , nephews and great nieces and nephews.Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; Edward and Margaret.
