Tr Mead

TR Mead, 61, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away Monday, April 22, 2024 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown surrounded by his loving family.

Per the wishes of TR and his family, cremation rites have been accorded under the care of the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Thomas Randall “TR” Mead was born on January 9, 1963 in “God’s Country” Sherman, Texas. He was the son of Milbern and Opal (White) Mead. He was united in marriage to Shelly Sirdoreus on December 3, 2003 and they made their home in Marshalltown. Over the years, he worked as a welder and mechanic. TR was a true “Jack of all trades” and there was nothing he couldn’t fix. In his free time, he loved fishing/boating, cooking on his smoker, playing pool and drinking a beer. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family, friends and his dogs. He was a true family man and outdoorsman.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 20 years, Shelly; his children: Casey “Red” Sirdoreus and Lori Tuttle; daughter-in-law Lindsey Sirdoreus, eight grandchildren: Bayleigh, Samantha and Dylan Tompkins, Austin and Nathaniel Krough, Conner Tuttle, Barry Ecklor and Alyssa (Jay) Danner; and one great-grandchild; siblings: Christina (Eddie) Napier of Arkansas, Opal Sanderson and William Mead both of Texas; Steve (Cherry) Hardie, Diana Chidester and Rhonda (Robert) Pickney all of Oklahoma, brother-in-law Marty (Maria) Sirdoreus and sister-in-law Julie Whittle both of Iowa and sister-in-law Blainey (Mark) Ray of Idaho. His loving fur kids: Natty (Sugar Dog), Dixie Belle (Baby Girl) and Angel (Big Goofy).

TR is preceded in death by his son Trevor Sirdoreus, his mother Opal W. White, his father Milbern Mead, brother-in-law Jimmy Sanderson, father-in-law Fred Sirdoreus, mother-in-law Charlotte Sirdoreus, step-dad Chuck Huckaby and many canine fur-babies.
