Travis Dean Schossow, 38, of Green Mountain, died Saturday, February 18, 2012, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. Following cremation, a celebration of life service for Travis will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 25, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. A luncheon will follow services in the Mitchell Family Funeral Home Reception Room. Visitation for Travis will be held from 9:00 a.m., until time of service at the funeral home. A private family burial will be held at a later date. A memorial fund for Travis has been established at the Lennox Employees Credit Union. Travis was born July 6, 1973, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Steve and Valerie (Bauchman) Schossow. Travis was raised and attended the Marshalltown schools until the age of seven years when his family moved on to Storm Lake, Garwin and Eldora. Travis graduated from the Eldora High School with the class of 1992. Travis enjoyed spending time working on his 1967 Firebird and entered it in several car shows. Above all, Travis was a loving and devoted father to his children and loved to spend time with them.Travis is survived by his daughter Faith Marie Schossow, his son Carsen Schossow, his father Stephen (Tricia) Schossow of Garwin, and his siblings: Darla Profers of Golden Valley, Arizona, Stephen Leo Schossow of Marshalltown and Stone Glenn Schossow of Garwin, Iowa.Travis was preceded in death by his mother Valerie, his maternal and paternal grandparents and his brother-in-law David Profers.
