Ty Steffensen

Ty Steffensen, 47, of Marshalltown, died Sunday, June 5.Public Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 10, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Rev. Jennifer Daniel officiating. There will be no visitation. He will be laid to rest in the Hillside Cemetery in a family service. Memorials may be directed to the Ty Steffensen Memorial Fund in care of his family. He graduated from the Marshalltown High School in 1982 and was formerly employed with the Iowa Veterans Home. Ty was a born coach and loved to coach his kids in basketball, soccer, baseball and football. He was passionate about the Kansas City Chiefs and camping and fishing. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Ty, Jr., Tad and Tabitha and their mother Melissa, his parents Gary and Nancy, sister Julie Steffensen, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Preceding him in death were his grandparents.
