❤️ In Loving Memory of Tyke Howard ❤️

2011–2026

It’s hard to put nearly 15 years of love and memories into words.

Tyke came into our lives in October of 2011 as a very special gift from the ambulance department and police department. At the time, we could never have imagined just how much that gift would become a part of our family and our lives.

Tyke truly loved everybody. He loved people, he loved other animals, and he never seemed to meet a stranger. If you knew Tyke, chances are he considered you his friend.

And yes…Tyke loved to bark! That was just part of who he was. ❤️

He loved going for rides, swimming, and especially taking trips to Missouri to see Grandma and Grandpa Howard. He was always happiest when he was with his people, no matter where we were going or what we were doing.

Tyke also had some very special people in his life. Kenny Link was his best friend, and Steve Link was a very good friend. Our neighbors knew him and loved him, too. Tyke wasn't simply the dog who lived in the neighborhood—he was part of the neighborhood.

But to us, Tyke was so much more than a dog.

He was family.

For nearly 15 years, he was there through the ordinary days and the special ones. He filled our home with his personality, his barking, his companionship, and most importantly, his unconditional love.

When we had to say goodbye, Tyke was surrounded by the people he loved. As difficult as that goodbye was, we wouldn't have wanted him to be anywhere else.

The house is quieter now. The rides aren't quite the same. There is an empty place where our buddy should be, and we miss him more than words can say.

But when we look back on Tyke's life, we don't want to remember only the sadness of losing him. We want to remember almost 15 wonderful years—the rides, the swimming, the Missouri trips, the barking, the friendships, the funny moments, and all the love he gave us.

Tyke Howard was one of a kind.

We were blessed to have him, proud to call him ours, and we will carry his memory with us forever.

Rest easy, buddy. We love you, Tyke. ❤️🐾
