Heaven gained another angel on the afternoon of April 11, 2020. Tyler Wilson, 24, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Iowa River Hospice. A memorial service for Tyler will be livestreamed with details to be provided on the funeral home website beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2020. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Tyler and his family. Tyler Manning Wilson was born April 23, 1995 in Marshalltown, Iowa. He attended school in Marshalltown and graduated as part of the class of 2013. During his time in high school, Tyler was a member of the Marshalltown High School Bowling Team and received his athletic letter and academic gold bar for the sport he loved. In 2015, Tyler moved into a group home in Newton where he was able to become independent and meet new friends while also trying a variety of new activities in his life until his cancer diagnosis in 2018. After his diagnosis his life changed drastically but Tyler made the best of it still having that loveable caring attitude. He was an avid gamer and throughout the course of his life always up into the early hours in the morning. He was able to become friends and connect with gamers locally and around the world. He enjoyed to go camping, fishing, spend time with his nephew Enzo and his family which included his beloved cat Missy Pissy Wilson. He was a member of the Green Mountain Church. Left to remember and cherish his memory are his parents Su Pals and Mike Wilson; his sister Emily (Renato) Corte; step-brother Brandon (Haley) Pals; his grandparents Donna Stonewall and Sharon Pals; his nephews, Enzo and Macson Corte; as well as numerous aunts and uncles. In death, Tyler rejoins his step-father Joe Pals; and his grandparents Manning (Bernice) Wilson, Wayne Stonewall, and Jimmie Pals. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the Iowa River Hospice of Marshalltown, the John Stoddard Powel 3 nurses in Des Moines, and the Hope Lodge in Iowa City for their exceptional care for Tyler.
