Vernon Leland Eggers, 81, of Hollister, Missouri, formerly of State Center, died Wednesday, February 27th, at the Skaggs Community Health Center in Branson, Missouri. His death came peacefully at 8:45 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 3rd, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in State Center with Pastor Mike Maddick officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Hillside Cemetery at State Center. Born on February 21, 1927, in State Center, he was the son of Ervin and Marie (Fricke) Eggers. He served our country honorably in the United States Army Air Corps in WWII and was a retried farmer and drainage contractor. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in State Center and moved to Branson 14 years ago. Left to celebrate his life are his loving wife Berniece Ione (Frohwein) Eggers, three children: Linda Rutzen of Marietta, GA, Donna Lee of Plano, TX, Leland Eggers of Lenexa, KS, five grandchildren, his siblings: Ramona Milleson of Colo, Iowa, Merle Eggers of Ames, Iowa, Rueben Eggers of Mesa, AZ, Glen Eggers of Unionville, MO and Elmer Eggers of State Center as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, the Frohwein family and a host of friends. In death he has rejoined his parents.
