Vernon Loughry

Vernon Dean Lourghy passed away in the comfort of his home on Sunday June 26, 2016 with his loving wife, Beverly, by his side. A public visitation will be held on July 2, 2016 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 9-10:00 a.m. with a funeral service following at 10:00 a.m. Mitchell Funeral home has been entrusted with the care of Vernon and his family at this time. Dean was born on April 24, 1939 to the loving parents of William and Margret (Bell) Loughry in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Dean attended the Fort Dodge School System. Deans life revolved around his wife Beverly. The two were married on July 30th, 1970 at the Little Brown Church. Dean and Beverly made their home in Marshalltown, spending time at the Senior Citizens Center socializing with friends, drinking coffee, playing cards, and enjoying lunch with many friends and family. Dean was an active member of the Salvation Army Church and would attend every Sunday with Beverly. The couple was always looking to help anyone and everyone in their time of need. When Dean had some free time he enjoyed woodworking and had a wood shop in his basement. Deans life could be summed up in two words it would be Loving Husband. Left to honor Deans memory are his loving wife of 48 years Beverly and a score of family and friends.
