Vic Switzer

Vic Switzer passed away Tuesday October 6, 2026 at Iowa River Hospice.

Vic was born to Leonard and Bonnie (Abrams) Switzer on February 5, 1954. A man of many talents, Vic could play any instrument but favored the strings, specifically the steel guitar, slide guitar, and acoustic guitar. This quality was also born out in his vocational paths as he was a Licensed Practical Nurse, maintenance man, welder, and machine operator. He was also an avid fisherman, and a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church in Union, Iowa. His diversity of talent is only matched by the depth of the void his passing leaves in the lives of his family. He will be missed.

Vic is survived by his wife of 20 years Debi. He was blessed with five children: Jake, Cody, Andy, Abby, and Jesse; and 14 grandchildren. Vic is also survived by his sister Deb and his twin brother Van.

Vic was preceded in death by his father Leonard Switzer who passed on October 10, 1988 and his mother Bonnie Davis who passed on February 2, 2021.

A visitation will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Union at 9:30AM on Monday October 19, 2026, with a Memorial Service to follow at 10:30AM. The urn will be buried at Liscomb Cemetery, and then a luncheon will be held at the church following the burial.
