Vickie Lynn Paris 59, of Grandview Heights Nursing and Rehab Center, formerly of Garwin, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2012.A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. of Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at the funeral home in Marshalltown. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family. Phone 641-844-1234.Vickie Lynn Paris was born on October 23, 1952 in Marshalltown, Iowa; she attended school in the Marshalltown School District, and then attended Marshalltown Community College. Vickie had worked at Marshalltown Manor and the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. Vickie enjoyed the oldies but goodies music, dancing, art, acrylics, drawing, woodworking, painting houses inside and out, going to the casino and traveling but most important was her family and of course her grandchildren.Left to cherish her memory is her significant other: Gloria Shawler, her children: David Lee Vilez Jr. of Green Mountain, April Vilez of Utah and Dennis Vilez of Hartford, Iowa and Glorias children:Sarah and Mike and Stan Shawler (Ashley), her grandchildren: Jerem Vilez, Lakea Vilez, Ashlynn Thompson, Donna, Erica and Billy Weecesand Alyssa, Cheyanne and John, her siblings: Warrenc(Cheryl) Paris, Ivan (Mona) Paris, Glenda (Robert) Halladay, Gleda (John) Scovill, Sue (Jon) Trauntvein, and half-brother Burke(Linda) Aschen, many nieces and nephew and great nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew.Vickie was preceded in death by her parents: Gleaford and Joan, step-mother: Trula, and step-father: Ceylon.
