Virginia Fisher, 86, of Marshalltown, died at her home on Saturday, September 4, 2010, while in the care of her loving family and Iowa Hospice. Funeral services for Virginia will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, September 8, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Following services, burial will take place at the Albion Cemetery. Visitation for Virginia will be held from 5:00 PM 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 7, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home where her family will be present to greet friends. Terry and Leona Doyle. She was raised and educated in the Osecola and Farber, Missouri areas where her family had cabins along the Osage River. During World War II Virginia worked at a Bomber Plant in Kansas City. Virginia was united in marriage to Wilbur Legg in 1945. Together they raised their family in the Montour and Conrad, Iowa areas until Wilburs death in September of 1965. In April of 1968 Virginia was married to Donald Fisher. Following their marriage they made their home in the Albion and Liscomb areas until Dons death in April of 2004. In addition to caring for and raising her family Virginia also worked at the Lynks Seed Company and Ramada Inn. Virginia enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, trapping, gardening, painting, raising flowers and baking for her family. Most of all she was a devoted mother and grandmother to her family. Virginia is survived by her three sons: Bob (Kathy) Terry of Liscomb, Tony Legg of Marshalltown and Mark (Lois) Legg of Marshalltown, her two daughters: Jean (Anthony) Rodenbeck of Melbourne and Patty (Kerry) Klaas of Marshalltown, her daughter-in-law Pat Legg of Marble Rock, Iowa, her two sisters: Mary Witham of Oregon and Claudine Hofert of Marshalltown, her brother: Delbert (Thelma) Terry or Tyler, Texas, thirty grandchildren, many great grandchildren, many great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Wilbur Legg and Donald Fisher, her brother Robert, her sisters Juanita and Pauline, her daughter Vivian and her son Wilbur.
