Virginia was united in marriage to the love of her life, Robert Harold Hansen on January 2, 1943, in Bethany, Missouri. From this union two sons were born: Stephen and Roy. Virginia spent most of her working years taking care of the family home, but she also enjoyed helping out at Renners Flowers and Montgomery Wards during the Christmas season. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ and Lidia Circle in Marshalltown. Virginia had a passion for cooking, especially when she could make the grandchildren her famous beef and noodles dish they loved so much. She had a talent in the kitchen cooking just about anything the family wanted, and was known for her wild game recipes. Many things were important in her life including animals- she especially enjoyed her birds and kitties. Left to cherish her memory are her two sons: Stephen (Ella) Hansen of Spotsylvania, VA and Roy (Carol) Hansen of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren: Christine (Donald) Lebo of Virginia Beach, VA, Scott (Laura) Hansen of Bufford, SC, Josh (Alicia) Hansen of Monroe, IA, Justin (Tammy) Hansen of Winterset, IA, Joey (Jenna) Hansen of Ankeny, IA, and Chelsey Rilatos of Iowa City, IA; 8 great-grandchildren and one brother: Bob Williamson of Ft. Dodge, IA and Gretchen (Jim) Hines of Montour, IA, who she thought of as a daughter. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert, mother, Emma, and one sister, Pat.
