Virginia was born January 4, 1916, to Gus and Viola Nodland of rural Marshalltown. She received her education in Marshalltown. She married Robert F. Logsdon on June 22, 1941, at The Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Robert passed away on March 23, 1978. Her remaining years were spent with Mr. Byron Pat Mckelvey who was her devoted friend, companion and caretaker. Pat cared for her at the family farm with great tenderness and compassion until her passing. Our family is grateful for his care and for him to become a part of our family. In her younger years, Virginia loved tap dancing with her son Gary. She enjoyed sewing and handmade most of their dance costumes and many of her own clothes. She always wore a dress, heels, jewelry and sometimes a hat and prided herself on being fashionable. She loved flowers and gardening. Virginia was proud to receive a certificate in 1995 from the Iowa Department of Agriculture which recognized her family farm as a Century Farm. She was employed twenty-five years at Younkers in Marshalltown. Virginia is survived by her son Gary (Sunny) Logsdon of Davenport, her grandson Matthew (Nikki) Logsdon of Ankeny, her granddaughters: Shauna (Steve) Strom and Stacia (Brad) Hurt all of Davenport, her great-grandchildren: Mallory Logsdon, Caleb, Cadence and Camdyn Strom, and her companion Byron Pat Mckelvey and her special friend Ann Rolston. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Robert. Virginias family would like to thank the people of Iowa Health Home Care and Iowa Hospice of Marshalltown for their services.
