Virginia "Ginny" Moore, age 77, of Garwin, passed away peacefully Saturday night, July 4, 2020 at Mercy West Lakes Hospital in West Des Moines, with her loving family by her side. Private funeral services will be held Monday, July 27, 2020 at the Garwin United Methodist Church, with burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Public visitation will be held Sunday, July 26, 2020 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 P.M. We strongly encourage the use of a mask and practice social distancing. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Virginia and her family. Virginia Kay Adair was born on November 16, 1942 in Marshalltown, Iowa to parents Max and Leone (Petersen) Adair. She attended school in Green Mountain through the eigth grade, graduating from Garwin High School in 1960. She also attended LPN training for one year at Mercy Hospital in Marshalltown. Virginia was united in marriage to Charles Kellogg on November 18, 1961. From this union three children were born Brenda, Scott and Curtis. The couple later divorced. On September 13, 1980 she was united in marriage to William Moore. Virginia began her 37 year career at the Marshalltown Hospital in the OB department as a nurses aide and at the time of her retirement she was a unit secretary. She was a member of the Garwin United Methodist Church. She enjoyed baking, watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, playing cards and traveling. She also enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes. But most all she LOVED her family and her beloved cat, Missy. She lived for and cherished every moment spent with her precious twin great-granddaughters Gabbi and Bella. Left to remember and cherish her memory are her children: Brenda (Jeff) Davis and Scott Kellogg (Cari Tew); three granddaughters: Jaime Davis, Danielle Kellogg (Manny Montelongo) and Megan Kellogg; precious twin great-granddaughters: Gabriella and Arabella Kellogg; her brother, James (Connie) Adair; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews; step-children: David Moore, Bill Moore, Jr. and Mary Moore; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill (2006); her son, Curtis (2004) and her parents, Max (1981) and Leone (1983) Adair.
