Wallace Wally Kutzner, 79, of Marshalltown, died Saturday, January 15, at the Iowa River Hospice House.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2011at 11:00 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. He graduated from the Marshalltown High School in 1949. On November 9, of that same year, he was married to Joan Marie Johnson in Marshalltown.Wally was employed at Fisher Controls for 33 years until retiring in 1986. He enjoyed coin collecting, playing billiards and cards, poker, Sheeps Head, doing yard work and treasured his kids and grandkids. Wally was a man of few words that will be greatly missed by many.Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Vicky (Dick) Veren of rural Albion, grandchildren: Peter Veren, Jennifer Kneeland, Michael Warner and Megan Warner; his great-grandchildren: Kyrie Kneeland, Tyler Kneeland, Jackson Kneeland, Ellen Kneeland, Anna Kneeland, Isabel Veren, Isaac Veren and Joshua Warner. Also surviving are his brother Elvin Kutzner of Olathe, Kansas and sister Gloria Bennet of Marshalltown as well as several friends.In death, Wally rejoined his parents, son John Kutzner, brothers Wayne, Ernest, Jr., Merle and Larry and sister Vivian Campbell.
