Wanda Harre, 77, of Marshalltown, died Friday, July 2, 2010, at Grandview Heights with her family at her side and in the care of Iowa Hospice.Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the family. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. She was the daughter of J.P. and Linnie May (Pool) McCarthy. She graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1950. On April 16, 1952, Wanda married Adolph Harre in Iowa City. The couple lived in Marshalltown their entire married lives.Wanda was employed as an inventory planner at Fisher and as a nurses aide at MMSC. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a Cub Scoutmaster. She enjoyed painting with acrylics, oil, and watercolors, crocheting, and going to restaurants.Surviving Wanda are her husband Adolph of Marshalltown, her children Cynthia Shipley of Marshalltown, David (Deb) Harre of Allison, Cheryl (David) Cobb of Marshalltown, and John (Tanya) Harre of West Des Moines; her 10 grandchildren; her 21 great-grandchildren; her brother Rev. Floyd McCarthy of California; her sister Marion Price of Texas; her sister Maggie (Herb) Nelson of State Center; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.In death she rejoins her parents and her brother Francis McCarthy.
