Wanda Severidt, 98, of Glenwood Place, formerly of the Green Mountain area, passed away on September 19, 2018, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 24, 2018, at the Green Mountain United Church of Christ in Green Mountain. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 23, 2018, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to her church, Green Mountain United Church of Christ or Iowa River Hospice. Wanda Idella Reed was born at home on the farm in rural Green Mountain, Iowa on July 5, 1920; she was the daughter of Wayne F. and Hazel (Richards) Reed. Wanda attended school in Green Mountain and graduated with the class of 1938. On November 29, 1939, Wanda was united in marriage to Jake Primus at the Little Brown Church and they remained together for 29 years until his passing in 1968. Wanda went back to school and became a Nurse’s Aide at Deaconess Hospital in Marshalltown. Wanda married Harold Severidt and they enjoyed 33 wonderful years together. She loved being a farm wife, gardening and canning. She loved to sew, quilt, needle work, collecting shells, all kinds of crafting and enjoyed cooking and baking sharing with others. She always loved anytime she could be around her family. She was very musical, playing the accordion, piano and trumpet and loved the time her and Harold wintered in Arizona. Wanda was a member of the United Church of Christ in Green Mountain, a founding member of the Lioness, Women’s Fellowship and the OWO (our Wednesdays out). Wanda will be remembered for her loving ways, always helping others with her kind, gentle spirit .Left to cherish Wanda’s memory is her daughter, Jalene Primus of Green Mountain, Iowa; grandchildren, Joseph Wayne Bobince of Green Mountain, Iowa and Joanna Primus of Cedar Falls, Iowa. In death Wanda rejoins her parents, Wayne and Hazel Reed; husbands, Jake and Harold; a son in infancy, Belden; and son, Dwayne Primus.
