Wanda Shrader, 93, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away at Unity Point Health of Marshalltown, Iowa on Saturday, February 17, 2018.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Speas was born on August 17, 1924, in rural Ferguson, Iowa; she was the daughter of Edna (Faybelle) Zerbe and Burleigh Alford Speas. She grew up in the Laurel/ Ferguson area, graduating from the Laurel Consolidated High School with the class of 1943. On November 12, 1947, Wanda was united in marriage to Donald C Shrader at the Marshalltown Christian Church. Wanda was employed for a time at Marshalltown Manufacturing, Stone’s, Lloyds and Van Hook Restaurants, later working at American Optical Company for W.A. Kaufman, M.D., Angelo B. Barberi, M.D. and later for 28 ½ years in the Marshall County Clerk’s Office, retiring from there in 1986 as deputy clerk. Wanda was a loving wife and homemaker. She loved to travel and help others in need and entertaining guests in her home. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Marshalltown and a longtime member of the Builders Bible Class.Left to cherish Wanda’s memory are many nieces and nephews, as well as many great-nieces and nephews. In death Wanda rejoins her husband, Donald; parents, Burleigh and Edna Speas; brothers, Cordis(Madelyn), Paul (Maxine), Ray (Betty) and Clyde( Glenna) Speas
