Wayne E. Buckshot Parmenter, 68, of Gilman, died Friday, August 8, 2008, at his home.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12th at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. He was educated in Marshalltown, and then Denver, CO. On June 8, 1986, Wayne married Twylla Hyland in Montour, Iowa. The couple lived in the Gilman area during their marriage. Wayne started working at Fisher Controls in November, 1964. He retired in 1995 after 31 years of employment. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Gold Wing Road Riders Association, Women on Wheels Support Association, the NRA, and the North American Hunters Association. He enjoyed motorcycles and firearms, and was a state champion in black powder shooting for 2 years.Left to mourn his loss are his wife, Twylla; his children, Carol (Alan) Best of Council Bluffs, Edward(Melissa Carraher) Parmenter of Minneapolis, MN, Michelle(John) Bendickson of Vinton, Douglas Parmenter of Marshalltown, Christine Aschenbrenner of Billings, MT, and Sandra(Greg) Moore of Toledo; his 18 grandchildren; his 2 great-grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Agaetha Hyland; his sister, Carol Carbone of Denver, CO; his brother Kenneth(Deb) Parmenter of Gilman; and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Richard D. Parmenter, in September of 2005.
