Wendell Roseland, 92, of the Grandview Heights in Marshalltown, former longtime Dunbar area farmer, died Saturday night, June 12th, at the Grandview Heights while in their loving care, his family and the Iowa River Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 16th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from noon until the service time. Born on May 9th, 1918, at Dunbar, Iowa, he was the son of Arthur and Ida (Kjormoe) Roseland. He graduated from the Dunbar High School. On March 1, 1940, he was united in marriage to Lois Aves. They made their home near Dunbar where he farmed and also was employed at Gra-Iron and Dunham-Bush in Marshalltown. He was a member of the Stavanger Friends Church, Marshall County Cattlemans Association, former Dunbar and LDF School Boards, 4-H leader and Ponies of America. He enjoyed raising livestock, gardening, fishing, conservation and was a hardworking gentleman. Left to cherish his memory are his son Rodney of Grinnell, 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, sister Norma Kellogg of Montour, brother Dale (Erma)Roseland of Gilman, sister-in-law Colleen Roseland of Gilman as well as several nieces and nephews. In death, he was rejoined with his wife, Lois, who died in December of 1995, son Raymond in 1982, daughter-in-law CloeAnn, his parents, great-grandson and brothers Donald, Myron and sister Dorothy Hauser.
