Wilhelmina (Mrs. Walter) Henschke, 82, of Marshalltown, died early Saturday morning, February 17th, at the Villa del Sol while in care of the Iowa River Hospice. Private family graveside services will be held on Tuesday, February 20th, at the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Public visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. on Monday at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Wilhelmina and her family. Born in The Hague, Holland, on May 3rd, 1924, she was the daughter of Abraham and Anna Maria (VanGenderen) VanDuinen. She received her education in Holland. On June 13th, 1942, she was united in marriage to Walter Henschke. They came to the United States in May of 1952 and moved to New Providence, soon after moving to Marshalltown where they have resided ever since. Mrs. Henschke was employed at Hicks Caf for four years and the Iowa Veterans Home for 10 years, retiring in 1986. Left to mourn her loss is her loving husband of 64 years, Walter, her children: Regina (David) Hatch of Valley, NE., Peter (Carol) Henschke of Annapolis, Maryland and Annie (Doug) Husak of Conrad, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In death she has rejoined her parents, an infant son Harold and two sisters.
