Willard Bink Cripps, 82, of Marshalltown , died Wednesday morning, April 23, at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines . Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 26th, at the Central Christian Church with Pastor Gail Thiessen officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery with full military honors by the VFW Harry C. Harter Post #839. Visitation will be one-hour prior to the services at the church. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Ph 641-844-1234.Born on December 8th, 1925, north of Marshalltown , he was the son of William L. and Anna C. (Jurgenson) Cripps. He received his education in the rural Albion schools and later Marshalltown prior and following his naval involvement.Bink served our country honorably for two years in the United States Navy. Following his return, he was employed at Coca-Cola Bottlers in Marshalltown for 40 years as well as working part-time at the Shell Station for 15 years. He drove courtesy car for Loots-Manning Chevy before retirement.On May 24th, 1947, he was united in marriage to Arlene Shenkle. They have always resided in Marshalltown where he was a member of the Central Christian Church and the American Legion. He enjoyed Little League, fishing- especially family trips to Waterville , MN . - ballgames and eating hotdogs at them, driving, his grandchildrens events, dog Gypsy and treasured his family.Left to cherish his memory are Arlene, his loving wife of 60 years, four children: Doug (Rebecca) Cripps of Andalusia, Il, Bill (Sandy) Cripps of Melbourne, Jeff (Pam) Cripps of Crosslakes, MN and Kris (Rol) Danner of Marshalltown, 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, his brother Russell (Mary) and sister-in-law Dorothy Cripps all of Marshalltown, several nieces, nephews, friends and the Shenkle family.In death he has rejoined his pazrents, siblings: Wanda Whaley, Eldon, Wallace, Gilbert, Harry Bud Cripps and two in infancy, Billy and Alice as well as great-grandson Tatge Michael Kildore and special companions, Prince and Gretchen, his dogs.
