William “Bill” David Fricke, 60, of Marshalltown, passed away at his home unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 18, 2020. Cremation rites have been accorded and memorial services will be held at a later date by the family. William Fricke was born on August 14, 1960 in Eldora to William E. and D. Joan Hoffman Fricke. He attended and graduated from West Marshall High School in 1978. Bill served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1979 until 1982. He had previously worked for Maytag in Newton as an Assembler before they shut down. Bill was an avid fan of stock car racing and an animal lover, especially dogs and cats. He was also a member of the American Legion post 46 in Marshalltown. Bill is survived by his siblings: Larry (Gayle) Fricke of Clemons, Steve (Rose) Fricke of Marshalltown, Pam Fricke of Marshalltown, Cindy (Pete) Grillas of Chatom, Alabama and John (Michelle) Fricke of State Center as well as his mother, D. Joan Fricke. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Bill is preceded in death by his father, William E. Fricke; nephew Jason Rice and niece Chrissy Rosebalm.
