William J. Curley, 67, of Marshalltown, died Wednesday, August 31, at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery. Born on February 15, 1943, in Marshalltown, he was the son of William and Carol Jean (Bodkin) Curley. He received his education in the Marshalltown schools. On March 8, 1960, he was united in marriage to Kittie Akers in Marshalltown at her aunts home. They made Marshalltown their home all of their married lives where he was employed at Cooper Manufacturing for 38 years. William liked to fish, remodel the house, walk his dog, work in the yard and spend time with his great grandson Joshua Buddy who had the daily route of feeding the ducks at Riverside, going to Dairy Queen and on a drive with papa. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 51 years, Kittie, his children Talona (Mike) Perry, William Dale Curley and Robin Eugene Curley, grandchildren: Nicole (Tim) Kluck, Felicia Curley, Mike Perry and Derek Curley, great-grandson Joshua Buddy Perry, sisters Sherry Horton, Cindy (Jim) Cruzan and brother Terry Wright, his dog Abby as well as many friends. In death, he rejoined his parents, grandparents and brother Larry Curley.
