William Egleston

William Frank Egleston, 77, of Marshalltown, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Central Iowa Healthcare in Marshalltown. Cremation rights have been accorded and there will be a public visitation held on Monday, October 24, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Bill and his family. William Egleston was born on February 8, 1939 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Leonard and Naida Block Egleston. Bill graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1957. He obtained his Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University. On August 19, 1961, Bill was united in marriage to Marylin Walkup in Marshalltown. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force from 1961 until 1965. Bill had worked for his father and with his brother Lee at Egleston Electric. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shrine and the scouts in his younger years. Bill enjoyed playing tennis and was active politics and the community. Bills passion was his curious tinkers spirit of designing and creating things that worked the way he wanted them to. Bill is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marylin; children, Mark (Cindy) Egleston of Marshalltown and Marlene Egleston of Marshalltown. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Emily and Elyse and his brother Lee (Joyce) Egleston of Marshalltown. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Naida.
