William Earl Green

William E. Green, age 76, of Daphne, AL, and formerly of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on November 22, 2024, at Unity Point Health- St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

Per his wishes and his family, cremation rites will be accorded. No formal services have been scheduled at this time. Mitchell Family Funeral Home of Marshalltown, Iowa has been entrusted with the care of Bill and his family. Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation. William Earl Green was born July 17, 1948, in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was the son of Earl and Clarice (Crumpler) Green. Bill attended Marshalltown High School and graduated with the class of 1966.

On August 19, 1967, William married the love of his life, Susan (Lyle) Green at the Laurel Methodist Church in Laurel, Iowa. He joined the work force at Fisher Controls at age 18, where he worked until his retirement.

Bill enjoyed playing tennis, fishing and hunting. Bill was known for keeping his vehicles extra clean and having the sharpest looking yard in his neighborhood. He also loved a good dance and was a great dancer himself.

He is survived by his spouse, Susan (Lyle) Green; his son, Daniel Green of Portland, Oregon; his siblings, Donna Green, Deloris “Tootie” Cauvel, Elaine Pieper, Bob Duff and Jim (Lee) Duff.

William is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Clarice; his stepmom, Neva Green; his son, Dustin “Dusty” Green; his sister Liz Smuck; and his stepbrothers, John and Fred Duff.
