William Raymond Love was born August 22, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois. He was the youngest of four children born to Frank and Bertha (Kyne) Love. Bill attended school in downtown Chicago and would later graduate from Senn High School in the class of 1944. Following his graduation, Bill enlisted in the United States Armed Forces and served in the United States Army for five years until being honorably discharged from service. Once returning from the service, Bill moved to Pleasantville and began working on his aunt and uncle’s farm.
On November 14, 1953, Bill was united in marriage to the love of his life Norma Catherine Pitman. They farmed for a little while in Pleasantville before Bill turned and switched gears to poultry management. They began a family having three children Gregory, Patricia, and Ronald, who they raised in Beech, Iowa. Bill was not one man of many hobbies but what he held near and dear was his family who he put before anything. His greatest joy was once he was able to have grandchildren and great-grandchildren begin to come in his life.
He is survived by his children, Gregory (Jocelyn) Love, Patricia Johnson-Love and Ronald (Dawn) Love; his grandchildren, Emma Love, Daniel (Michelle) Johnson, David (Elisabeth) Johnson, Deborah Johnson, Deanna (James) Laugerman, Darren (Sarah) Johnson, Adam Johnson and Alexander (Hannah) Johnson; his 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous other cherished family members.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Norma Love; his son-in-law, Joel Johnson; his parents Frank Love and Bertha Love; and his siblings, Harry Love, Frank Love and Vera Montoro.
