William “Bill” Oetker, 85, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018, at Southridge Special Care in Marshalltown, Iowa and under the care of Iowa River Hospice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at St Henry Catholic Church in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be prior to services from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m. also at the church. Memorials may be directed to St Henry Catholic Church or Iowa River Hospice. William Francis Oetker was born on July 29, 1932, on the family farm near Haverhill, Iowa; he was the son of George and Hildegard (Hoffman) Oetker. Bill attended St Mary High School graduating with the class of 1950. He served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1952 until 1954 during the Korean Conflict. On January 15, 1952, Bill was united in marriage to Patricia Kielly at the Rhodes, Iowa St Joseph’s Catholic Church and they have lived in the Marshalltown area their entire married lives. Bill worked as a farmer and then for the railroad and retired from the Marshall County Jail in 1987. He was a member of St Henry Catholic Church and the American Legion.  Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 66 years, Pat; children Rusty (Cathy) Oetker of Centennial, Colorado and Renee (Willy) Adams of Port Washington, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Nicholas (Pam) Adams and Shannon (Adam) Odland; step-grandchildren, Alex (Brendan) Keane, and Tessa Nicol; great-grandchildren, Ben, Lily and Annabelle; and siblings, Irene Erwin, Earl (Irene) Oetker and George (Rita) Oetker. In death Bill rejoins his parents, George and Hildegard, daughter, Jacki and siblings, Bob, Marie, Harold, Jim and Elizabeth.
