William Ruport, 68, of Marshalltown, died Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at MMSC.Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2010, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. William Lloyd Ruport was born on July 30, 1942, in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. He was the son of Earl and Lola (Lowry) Ruport. Bill attended Albion High School. He served our country honorably in the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964. On December 10, 1970, Bill married Kaye Carbaugh in Princeton, Missouri. The couple lived in Marshalltown.Bill was employed at Fisher Controls for 44 years, retiring in 2004. After retirement, Bill was employed at Fastenal from 2004-2007. He was a member of Local UAW 893. He was a fan of Minnesota Vikings football and collecting Vikings memorabilia. He enjoyed his family, traveling, white water rafting and his grandkids. He cared very much for his pets, including special cat Maggie; dogs Rufus and Samson; and cats Holly and Misty. Surviving Bill is his wife of over 39 years and love of his life, Kaye, of Marshalltown; his children: Shelley (Mike) ONeal of Marshalltown, Shannon (Mark) Welch of Brooklyn and Nykkie (Andrew) Ziemke of Marshalltown; his grandchildren: Christopher ONeal, Joshua ONeal, Logan ONeal and Taylor ONeal, and Quentin Hafner, Blake Hafner and Katarina Hafner; his brothers Jerry (Kay) Ruport and John (Chris) Ruport; and his sister Linda (Craig) Collins. In death he rejoins his parents and stepdad Joseph Grotzinger; his brother Ted Ruport; and his sister Judy Hoover.
