William Wayne "Bill" Hildreth

William Wayne “Bill” Hildreth, age 77, of Rhodes, Iowa passed away in the comfort of his home on April 18, 2024.

A visitation is scheduled for Sunday, April 28, 2024, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home of Marshalltown. Everyone is encouraged to dress casual and wear racing apparel. William Wayne Hildreth was born on April 27, 1946, at the family farm in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was the son of William and Peggy (Lott) Hildreth. Bill graduated from West Marshall with the class of 1964. He later married Lynne (Petit) Hildreth on December 1, 1994, and made their home in Rhodes. William was known by many as either “Bill” or “Tyke”, depending on who was talking to him. Bill was a hardworking, self-employed plumber for the majority of his working career. He enjoyed racing his sport mod #98 at various racetracks, especially the Marshalltown Speedway. In his free time, Bill also enjoyed slow-pitch softball and horses.

He is survived by his wife Lynne Hildreth, his children; Robert Hildreth, Jodi Blink, and Jill Blink, his grandchildren; Kacee Hildreth, Koddy Hildreth, Jessica Corns, Jonathan Schroyer, Garett Blink, Piper Blink, and Karstyn Blink, his two great-grand kids and one that is on the way, and his siblings, Brent (Janet) and Cheryl Hildreth.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents William and Peggy, his brother Steve Hildreth and his stepson Michael Blink.
