William "Frank" White

Wm. Frank White, Jr., age 67, of Marshalltown, passed away in the peace and comfort of his own home, on the morning of Saturday, September 24th, 2022 with family at his side and in care of the Iowa River Hospice.

Frank was a man of strong work ethic and was the ideal neighbor- always helping others. He humbly never wanted the focus to be on him. He left instructions when this time came to allow him to bow out quietly and without fanfare. No services will be held, but condolences may be left for the family at www.mitchellfh.com. Born on July 29th, 1955, in Danville, IL, he was the son of Wm. Frank and Reta (Sheets) White, Sr. He attended school in Catlin, IL. Until age 11 when his family moved to Marshalltown. He graduated from the Marshalltown High School and later NIACC in Mason City.

Frank was united in marriage to Shari Nelson. They were blessed with children Jessica and Justin.

He was employed at Alliant Energy until his retirement in 2017. He enjoyed volunteering, fishing, his grandchildren, working out at the “Y”, gardening and his dog “Bud.” Frank also attended New Hope Christian Church in Marshalltown.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Jessica White (Kevin Anderson), son Justin Cook, grandchildren: Beau Thomas, Ann Marie Thomas and Richard Anderson; his twin sister Pat Brown, sister Peg Henning, sister-in-law Carol White, nieces and nephews: William Gilmer, Justin Brown, Matthew White, Kelly White, Sam White, Liz Brown, Emily Gilmer and Hilary Brown; as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and friends.

In death, Frank rejoined his parents, brother Sam and sister Chris Kirkpatrick.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Iowa Veterans Home, Marshalltown Food Pantry, Animal Rescue League of Marshalltown or the House of Compassion.
