Willie Leytham, 64, of Albion, died Friday afternoon, November 16th, at his home while in care of his loving family and the Iowa River Hospice. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 20th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Shomo, chaplain of the Iowa River Hospice officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Marietta Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 6-8:00 p.m. on Monday. A memorial fund is being established. Born William Leytham on January 9th, 1943, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, he was the son of Glen and Fern (Conner) Leytham. He graduated in Council Bluffs and, on November 18th, 1961, in Council Bluffs, married Pat Goss. They moved to Marshalltown in 1970 and to Albion in 1990. Willie was employed at VW of Marshalltown, Honda of Ames and most recently Southard Implement as a mechanic. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Marshalltown and formerly of the Albion Volunteer Fire Department. Willie treasured his grandchildren, his camping friends, playing jokes and pranks, John Deer tractors and his family. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of nearly 46 years, Pat, his children: Fred (Lori) Leytham of Garwin, Crystal (Jeff) Butler of Union, Bill (Robin) Leytham of LeGrand and Denise (Jeff) Schwandt of Eldora, 10 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, brother Mike Wymore in Texas, sisters: Donna Rae Massey in California, Jean Kruse and Mary Vallier both of Council Bluffs and numerous friends. In death he rejoined his parents, son Michael and brothers Jack and Frank.
