Wilma McGehee, 84, of Marshalltown, died Monday, December 21, 2009, at MMSC.Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2009, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Phone 641-844-1234.Wilma Irene Peterson was born on May 16, 1925, at home in Legrand, Iowa. She was the daughter of Fred and Fern (Hulsizer) Peterson. She graduated from Legrand High School in 1943. On May 26, 1946, Wilma married Robert McGehee at Church of Christ in Marshalltown.Wilma worked at Fishers before beginning her family. She later worked at Crew Lanes Bowling Alley for many years. She enjoyed her bowling league, loved music, especially classic country, playing slot machines at the casino, singing with her sister Frannie, the Chicago Cubs, and crocheting. She loved her grandchildren and family gatherings in her summer apartment. She will be missed by her children, Rick (Tami) McGehee of Marshalltown, Terri (Mark) Ellison of Ankeny, Iowa, and Larry (Shirley Sandbulte) McGehee of Marshalltown; her grandchildren, Heather (Benji) Vandeburgh, Megan (TJ) Mimick, Eric McGehee, Shelbee Ellison, Ryan McGehee, and Nicki (Fernando) Hernandez; her great-grandchildren, Adom Vandeburgh, Isaac Hernandez, and Jayden Avilos; her sisters Betty Weaver and Frannie Matney; and her brother, Fred Peterson.In death, she has rejoined her parents; her husband Robert who died in 1991; her sister Shirley Allen; and her brother, Bob Peterson.
