Yanitza was blessed to parents Juan Pablo Lopez Ortiz and Yessica Lopez on September 9, 2005. Their second blessing, Linette, was born April 22, 2007. The two sisters were inseparable, best friends their whole lives. Growing up, they both took part in Tanya’s Studio of dance. They both had a love for makeup, parties, music and dancing.

Yanitza was a senior at Marshalltown High School with big dreams. She was working as a CNA at The Willows, with plans to graduate early and begin attending classes at Marshalltown Community College toward her goal of becoming a registered nurse. Yani was loveable, kind outgoing, always the life of the party. She was crowned homecoming queen barely a month ago and kept extremely busy with cheerleading and the Marshalltown High School Dance team. Yanitza was very organized and enjoyed cleaning. The oldest of four, she was always willing to help at home. She loved Starbucks, eyelashes and spending time with her friends and her boyfriend, Isacc Lara Mendoza.

Linette had a zest for life, a love of making people laugh and was always telling jokes. She was a sophomore at Marshalltown High School and was just about to start a job in food services at The Willows. She always looked up to her big sister and was following in her footsteps: she was a cheerleader as a freshman and also planned on becoming a registered nurse. Linette cared deeply for others and was not afraid to stick up for those who needed it. She loved to sleep a lot and loved soccer, with plans to join the soccer team in the future. She was the party girl, always keeping busy and enjoyed spending time with her friends.

Both girls were full of life and potential, both were beautiful on the inside and outside, both will leave an imprint on the hearts of many. They will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved them.

Left to cherish their memory are their beloved parents, Juan Pablo and Yessica; their siblings, Leland and Jenicka Lopez; grandparents: Jose and Maria Cisneros and Martin and Maria Lopez; great-grandparents: Manuel and Maria Cisneros and Domingo and Maria Lopez; aunts and uncles: Nereida Cisneros, Yesenia Cisneros, Jose Cisneros, Samuel Cisneros, Jose Luis Flores, Gaby Lopez, Marisol Jaimes, Jesus Lopez, Leonardo Lopez, and Alejandro Lopez; great-aunts and great-uncles: Jose Lopez, Diego Lopez, Jorge Lopez, Juana Lopez, Laura Lopez, Freddy Jaimes and Jaime Flores; numerous cousins and many friends.

In eternal life, they are reunited with their great-grandparents, Izaias and Maria Dolores Alcoser and their aunt, Marisol Lopez.
