Zackerie Whitmore

Zackerie “Zack” Whitmore, age 39, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away in the comfort of his home on July 16, 2026.

Funeral services for Zack will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 beginning at 10:30 A.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026 from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials in Zack’s name may be directed to his family for a later designation. Zackerie Dean Whitmore was born August 31, 1986 in Chewelah, Washington. He was the son of Kevin West and Melodie Whitmore. Zack spent his early years in Washington and Minnesota before moving to Marshalltown along with his family in his early years of elementary school. He attended school in Marshalltown and later returned to Marshalltown Community College where he received his certificate in Tool and Die.

Zack was the proud father of two children, Cora and Seth. He raised them alongside his longtime friend and partner, Haley Ramsey. He worked for Dan Foss, Burke and Emerson after receiving his Tool and Die degree. Zack lived and breathed skateboarding. He was a member of the Marshalltown Skateboarding Community and the Sober Warriors. In his free time, he loved anything that would go fast, particularly sport bikes. Additionally, he enjoyed passing the time playing paintball and airsoft, swimming, kayaking, and MMA/boxing. He had a passion for music and always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Those left to remember and cherish his memory are his children, Cora (Jacob) Whitmore and Seth Whitmore; his mother, Melodie Whitmore; grandmother Georgie Whitmore; siblings, Anthony (Heather) West, Nathan “Boo” West and Stephanie Whitmore; nieces and nephews, Aaron (Rebecca) West, Lucas West, Mike West and Jazzy West and one great-niece Rosalina. He is also survived by countless cherished friends who will miss him dearly.

In his passing, Zack rejoins his father, Kevin West and his maternal grandparents, Dean and Patricia Whitmore.
