Born Zanna Mae Wogan on November 4, 1955 in Marshalltown, Iowa, she was the daughter of Charles Leroy Wogan Sr. and Martha Melissa (Wright) Wogan. She grew up in Marshalltown and graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1974. Caring and compassionate, Zanna loved her work as a Certified Nurse’s Aide up until her health led to an early retirement. Family and friends were very important to Zanna. She enjoyed going on picnics and camping with her kids and playing cards with her friends. She was a fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Chicago Bears, as well as the Chicago Cubs. She also loved Willie Nelson and Garth Brooks. Though strong-willed and determined, she was deeply loved by all of her friends and family and will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish her memory is her companion of over twenty years, Howard Stanley; her children: Jason (Laura) Burns and Faith Burns, both of Marshalltown; grandchildren: Jacob (Aspen) Mason, Mariah (Jacob) Harold, Melissa Burns, Guastina (Curtis) Watson, Jordan Burns and Samantha Burns; ten great-grandchildren and several cousins, including Cheryl (Jack) Freet, who was more like a sister to her.
Zanna is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers: Charles Wogan Jr. and Max Wogan and her sister-in-law, Lee Wogan.
