Zona Clark

Zona Mae Clark, 80, of Marshalltown passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at the Hawkeye Care Center (formerly Villa Del Sol). Services for Zona will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Zona and her family. Zona Hansen was born on October 4, 1934 in Toledo, Iowa to Harry and Emma OBrady Hansen. She graduated from Tama High School in 1952. On December 18, 1953, Zona was united in marriage to Donnie Clark in Cedar Rapids. They resided their whole married life together in Marshalltown. Zona worked as an executive secretary for Fisher Governors Vice President of Manufacturing, Jim Boyd, from 1954 until 1956 when she resigned in order to start her family, ultimately raising seven children. As an empty-nester, she went to Econo Foods where she managed and cooked at the Red Apple Caf. Zona most enjoyed writing and reading poetry, listening to music; especially George Strait, collected owls and snow babies and truly cherished watching her childrens and grandchildrens sporting events. Zona is survived by her husband of 61 years, Donnie. Children: Donita (Ted) Grabau of Marshalltown, Peggy (Mike) Noid of Marshalltown, Danny (Tammy) Clark of Poplar, Wisconsin, Wendy (Dennis) Fontanini of Marshalltown, Karen (Erik Sturm) Kramer of Apple Valley, California, Barbara (Paul) Goodman of Dubuque and Tim (Vanessa) Clark of Commerce City, Colorado. Zona is also survived by many grandchildren, five great grandchildren and her brother Donald Jeep Hansen of Marshalltown. Zona is preceded in death by her parents Harry and Emma and five siblings.
